Between the heat, the tedious driving and the endless flow of activity, Coachella is guaranteed to wear a person out. But we wouldn’t have it any other way, right?

Whether it’s running into an old high school pal in the Ferris Wheel line at Neon Carnival or dancing to your favorite musical acts with your festival crew at the Empire Polo Fields, there’s never any shortage of excitement during weekend one of the 3-4 day music celebration.

Although I still feel slightly (understatement) sleep deprived with barely a single clean, wearable clothing article to my name, I had such a blast this past weekend being in the mix of some of the desert’s best bashes and liveliest crowds. Although frolicking around the festival was indeed amazing (check out my Coachella 2016 playlist here!), I certainly put a solid amount of time into the parties. Scroll below for details and photos from some of the hottest (literally and figuratively) events that accompanied the festival during weekend one!

The Music Lounge Presented by Las Vegas and #WHHSH

Guests were given the ultimate Las Vegas-like experience by way of Palm Springs in the company of G-Eazy, DNCE, Balthazar Getty and DJ Equal, who each took a hand behind the turntables over the course of the two-day event. Celebrity guests, which also included Kat Graham, Kellan Lutz and Amber Rose, swooped up a generous selection of swag, including colorful kicks by Diadora (my new purple ones are so much fun!) and matching men’s sock and underwear sets from Related GarmentsARIA Resort & Casino‘s mixologist was also on hand to provide specialty #WHHSH beer cocktails.

Neon Carnival

In typical yearly fashion, Neon Carnival was the most packed party of this weekend. A slew of celebrities and tastemakers came out in droves to the coveted nighttime event, presented by Re/Done Levi’s and hosted by Tequila Don Julio. Guests at the hotly hyped bash – which included Leonardo DiCaprio, Rihanna, Jared Leto, Joe Jonas, Scott Eastwood, The Weeknd, Derek Hough, Aaron Paul and Brody Jenner, to name a few – hopped on a variety of theme park rides, won game prizes and took in the sounds of DJ Rukus, DJ Politik and DJ Equal, while partying until 5:00 a.m.!

REVOLVE Desert House

There was no lack of pretty faces and swag-filled bags at Revolve clothing’s picturesque desert house, which had been the home to Lacoste‘s former years-long Coachella celebration. Joico was on hand to spray guests’ hair with its popular new temporary Insta Tint colors; Ciroc and Baileys made sure no hand was left empty in the scorching sun, while Bai provided vodka mixers; ColourPop cosmetics provided a slew of colorful take home “lippie sticks” (my favorite snag of the day!); and Cult Gaia provided gorgeous custom flower crowns for the stylish soiree, which hosted Shay Mitchell, Emma Roberts, Alessandra Ambrosio, Warren G. and A$AP Rocky, Peyton List and Zoe Kravitz, among other bold-faced names.

Calvin Klein‘s packed CK Desert Sessions on Friday night was another fun hit of the weekend. Held in the middle of a Cathedral City strip mall warehouse, the celeb-heavy, beer-filled fete featured a set by Alesso, among other DJs. Meanwhile, one of Saturday afternoon’s biggest musts included Bootsy Bellows‘ Pool Party Presented by McDonalds, where Kendall and Kylie Jenner and their hot Hollywood crew (Hailey Baldwin, Bella Hadid, The Weeknd, Cody Simpson and even the sisters’ step bro Brody) were all in tow, where some of them munched on bites from the Mickey D’s food truck while lounging around. The lady Jenners and their party posse didn’t skip a beat all weekend. A day earlier, the gang made their way to the 1OAK and Up&Down-hosted pop-up event that included a DJ set by the Pizza Boys and an impromptu performance by Post Malone. Kendall and her friends passed out pizzas on the dance floor, while guests also munched on tacos, sipped on Budweiser and swooped up sunnies from Smoke x Mirrors and clothing from Aussie brand nANA jUDY.

Grammys 2015: Inside the Parties and the Backstage Official Gift Lounge

February 9, 2015

The MusiCares and Clive Davis pre-Grammy parties are annually the events most bustling with stars leading up to music’s biggest night – but that doesn’t mean they are the only fun happenings.

From hearing live performances by The Weeknd and Childish Gambino, to catching a DJ set by HAIM, there was plenty to see, do (and hear) this weekend, before everyone said cheers to last night’s big winner Sam Smith with specialty cocktails by Ciroc, the official toast of the Grammys!

My festivities kicked off on Thursday at the El Rey Theatre in L.A., where Rolling Stone and Google Play joined forces to put on a primarily hip-hop filled night with a killer DJ set by Samantha Ronson (who spun mostly throwback classics, ranging from Aaliyah and Mya, to Nelly and Jermaine Dupri), followed by live performances by The Weeknd and Childish Gambino. As guests – including Emma Roberts, French Montana and Leona Lewis – sipped on cocktails and munched on tray-passed finger foods, they could view some of the magazine’s most iconic covers, which continuously scrolled on the upper walls (including my favorite, which featured Shannen Doherty, Luke Perry and Jason Priestley).

Friday was an evening to remember at downtown L.A.’s picturesque Spanish Mediterranean Hotel Figueroa, where guests, including Calvin Harris, Madeon, Yacht, Local Natives and Twin Shadow hung poolside, taking in the sounds of a live performance by Niia, a DJ set by Alana and Este Haim and a DJ set by Childish Gambino for Opening Ceremony and The dFm‘s pre-Grammy celebration. From the very beginning to the end, the party was packed with some of the city’s most stylish music lovers and industry elite.

On Saturday, up-and-coming rapper Bryce Vine used his charismatic stage presence, upbeat music style and adorable boyish looks to win over the intimate crowd at Bootsy Bellows in West Hollywood during a private show. Guests at the event, which featured additional on-the-rise musical talents, sipped on hosted cocktails made with new soda beverage Caffeinated Club, a mixer with zero calories, no sugars and no artificial sweeteners.

After Sunday’s show, I started off at Create nightclub in Hollywood, where the King of Crunk himself, Lil Jon, took over the turntables for an approximate 90-minute DJ set, playing everything from his own hits to Eminem‘s “Lose Yourself.” Attendess at the party, hosted by Pandora radio and T-Mobile, munched on an endless supply of tray-passed bites, including lobster ceviche and pork belly tacos.

Following that event, I made my way downtown to the Continental Club, a chic loungey spot that featured a lengthy live performance by best R&B album nominee Bernhoft, who hails from Norway. I wasn’t really familiar with his music before, but his sexy soul-pop vibe has me newly smitten. The event, which also celebrated the launch of Keurig 2.0, provided all kinds of coffee-mixed specialty cocktails, a slew of various deserts (donuts and cake pops galore) and lite bites.

Throughout the weekend, in between show rehearsals and other various things going on at Staples Center, where the big event took place, celebrities (including Usher, Common, LL Cool JBastille and Maddie Ziegler) made their way backstage to the official Grammy gift lounge presented by MTG. They snagged all kinds of goodies, ranging from New Era caps and Gibson guitars, to robotic toys by WowWee, crystal pendants from SIS by Simone I. Smith and a plethora of other gadgets and fine items.

Ciroc Vodka & Dance Music Artist Erika Jayne Help Skyelyfe Readers Get Their NYE Pre-Party in Full Swing!

November 30, 2014

champagneSometimes the getting ready process for a night on the town is more fun than the actual outing itself, and New Year’s Eve is no exception!

Whether it’s hosting a few pals for an intimate gathering the night before the ball drops – or playing dress-up with friends hours before the year officially comes to a close, NYE always calls for some pre-party action.

Luckily, with the help of Billboard dance chart-topper Erika Jayne, along with Ciroc vodka, skyelyfe has a foolproof plan to making the prelude to the biggest night of the year go off without a hitch!

What’s more welcoming to an NYE pre-party than sexy custom cocktails waiting when guests arrive? Below are two recipes (including one that boasts the ultra premium vodka line’s newest flavor, pineapple) that are sure to make mouths water (but as always, drink responsibly. There’s a long night ahead!)

But crafting these classy beverages is no fun without a little music in the background, so pop open your Spotify and get listening to this fun party mix Ms. Jayne created exclusively for skyelyfe, which includes her recent hit “Painkillr.” Equal parts rap and dance (old-school and new), this 10-song mix is sure to have you bouncing away in your kitchen (try not to spill!).
