April isn’t just for rainshowers and tiny, scantily clad tweens plowing through Coachella.
This month also brings on a slew of fresh springtime tunes, and I’ve gotta say, there’s a pretty solid selection going on right now.
Chris Brown, who I am beyond stoked to see live at The Forum on May 23 (!!!) just released the very explicit “Privacy,” and this blast-worthy jam obviously has me all sorts of excited for what else is to come from him at this time.
And another musical fav, Betty Who, just released her latest full-length album The Valley. Sticking true to her signature poppy sound, the selection of 13 tracks is every bit upbeat and carefree. I’m especially feelin’ “Some Kinda Wonderful.”
While we’re on the pop theme, please tell me you’ve given a listen to Charli XCX‘s incredible new album Number 1 Angel. It came out at the beginning of March and I do not feel like it’s been given the proper attention it deserves. OMG, I’ve been jamming away nonstop to “3AM (Pull Up)” f./MØ.
You can listen up to aforementioned three tracks, along with fresh selections from Spirit Twin, Fickle Friends, Gryffin f./Daya, Little Mix, Party Nails, Crystal Bats and plenty more with the 45-song playlist below!
Fall is nearing, but there are a handful of artists in this week’s New Music Monday playlist who can’t seem to shake the summer vibes.
From Röyksopp and Susanne Sundfør‘s “Never Ever” to Pat Lok‘s “Let Me Show You In,” along with a slew of others, there’s a dance party in the making.
Right up there on that list is Tritonal‘s upbeat melodic “Running Into Me,” from their just-released album Painting with Dreams.
But if you’re feeling on the more mellower side, you should give a listen to Teeth & Tongue‘s “Do Harm,” “Ride to Die,” by The Shallows, “I Still Wonder,” by The Chain Gang of 1974, and Psychic Twin‘s “Running in the Dark,” from their debut album Strange Diary.
Click the playlist below for 29 new tracks, which also includes Elohim, Oliver, FRENSHIP, Rameses B and more!
I’m so excited about Empire of the Sun‘s upcoming Oct. 28 album Two Vines, and I’ve included their brand new track “High and Low” on this week’s New Music Monday playlist.
Additionally, I’m totally digging Dua Lipa‘s high-energy “Blow Your Mind (Mwah),” and my girl Alexx Mack‘s collaboration with Goldhouse called “Pleasure.”
There’s something for everyone this week. If EDM is your thing, check out Borgeous‘ “Higher,” if you like hip-hop, you’ll probably enjoy Dej Loaf‘s “Miami.” Into rock? Give John Travoltage‘s “Heist” a listen or Bad Suns‘ “Heartbreaker.” And for you pop lovers, had to include a little Britney on the list. I’m surprisingly digging Glory, and I added “Slumber Party” to the list. Speaking of pop, “Higher” by Carly Rae Jepsen is the perfect retro-sounding tune.
Well, at least according to the songs in this week’s New Music Monday playlist.
Let’s start with Justin Bieber, who is clearly on a roll right now. Fresh off the success of “Cold Water,” which is just the latest of a slew of recent hits, the pop star lends his voice on the melodic electronic track “Let Me Love You,” off of DJ Snake‘s new album Encore. There’s zero doubt this will be a huge hit.
Warpaint also made the list with the love-dovey “New Song,” and let’s not forget about Porter Robinson‘s new collab with Madeon in “Shelter.”
There’s plenty more as well. I’m totally digging A R I Z O N A‘s “Cross My Mind,” Savoir Adore‘s “Savages,” Colouring‘s “About You,”–and heck, even One Republic won me over this week with their new track “Kids,” which sounds a bit different than what I am used to hearing from them.
Time to bust out your headphones and scroll through the playlist below, because this selection of 45 new songs are my favorite in quite a while! There’s still a little bit of time remaining to lock in that summer romance, so let these tunes be your guide!
With Father’s Day this past weekend, my guess is many of you kindly spent the last two days bumping dad’s classics on his behalf. So, with this fresh week ahead, why not enjoy some tunes of your own? (Anything to take our minds of this horrible L.A. heatwave, right?!)
For this New Music Monday, I bring you 20 fresh tracks, with some upbeat electro-pop liveliness from Little Boots and The Flavr Blue, to the ultimate blast-worthy summer jam by Tiesto, featuring John Legend, appropriately titled “Summer Nights.”
And Vicetone totally reinvented Bonnie McKee‘s “I Want It All,” which was originally released un-remixed several months ago. I’m totally digging the upgraded version!
Scroll below to listen to the full playlist, which also includes tunes by Broods, TOTEM, Anoraak, Kaiser Chiefs, Snow tha Product, featuring W. Darling and more!
Your guess is as good as mine when it comes to the meaning behind Cavaliers of Fun‘s interesting selection of songs – but like their name suggests, they are, indeed, fun.
They just released their debut album Astral Division and the title track has been playing in my car on repeat. Their Facebook page refers to their music as “space electropop,” and their hometown is listed as “a distant galaxy.” Works for me!
COF are just one of the 20 artists featured in this week’s New Music Monday playlist. MØ has a lovely new track “Final Song,” while Classixx is back at it with “I Feel Numb,” featuring Alex Frankel.
Kygo released his long-awaited debut album Cloud Nine, so I’ve included “Raging,” featuring Kodaline. We’ve also got some new material from One Republic, Ladyhawke, MNEK, Paperwhite and CHVRCHES.
Click through the playlist below for the full set of songs – and as an added bonus, keep scrolling for a new music video for the song “Rebel Heart,” by The Shelters. The song was co-produced by Tom Petty and the video was co-directed by his daughter Adria.
Ariana Grande is a beautiful, confident young lady with an incredible voice, but I’ve never been too hugely into her music. Well, her latest song “Into You” is every bit cut out for a hit.
The track starts out super slow and sexy and then dives into a dance party. With the sunniest season right around the corner, this song has “hot summer romance” written all over it!
Grande is just one of 24 artists featured in this week’s New Music Monday playlist, which also includes melodic drum and bass by Maduk and a new track by Elohim, who I had the pleasure of seeing perform live over the weekend (more on that later this week, but she is amazing).
Tensnake, George Maple, Monogem, Salt Ashes, Fitz and the Tantrums, AlunaGeorge and Astrid S are also among the artists on the list. See below to give yourself a listen!
While some may weep (time to retire the flower crowns ’til next year!) and some may cheer (all of the Coachella pressure is finally off!), one thing holds true: We can now revert back to our regular music routines.
As much fun as it was putting together my annual playlist devoted to the two-week festival, it certainly took away from time I could have spent finding new music.
So with that, skyelyfe’s New Music Monday is back with 19 new songs. Lucas Nord, HONNE, PHASES, White Sea and Kygo are each among artists who made the cut, along with 2016 Coachella act RL Grime. Additional festival act ZHU made the list as well with “In the Morning,” featuring Kaskade, which was on repeat for me all throughout weekend one of the festival (so pretty!).
Check out the playlist, which also includes Mako, Sizzy Rocket and Selah Sue f./Childish Gambino, below!
If you’re based in L.A., then yes – I get it – your only focus this week is weekend one of Coachella, which kicks off with festivities on Thursday.
Rest assured, there will be a fitting playlist to come for your listening pleasure, but for today, I encourage you to lend your ears to an amusing selection of 18 new songs, ranging from pure poppy fun in Tegan and Sara‘s “Boyfriend,” to acoustic beauty by LIGHTS with “Same Sea.”
Scroll through the playlist below for this week’s New Music Monday, which also includes tracks by Midi Matilda, Maduk, The Chainsmokers, Galantis, Erik Hassle, Benny Benassif./Chris Brown and Skizzy Mars f./JoJo (yes, that JoJo!).
It’s been a little slow (IMHO) with new music releases I’m smitten over lately, so I am especially appreciative for this week’s crop of fresh tracks.
From Norwegian electronic artist Bearson‘s melodic delight “Want You,” to Mystery Skulls‘ fun little disco-inspired number “Believe,” among others, there is a solid selection of dance-friendly songs to choice from as part of this week’s New Music Monday.
Let’s also not forget Gorgon City and Vaults‘ “All Four Walls” or old-school trance pioneers Cosmic Gate‘s “Round We Go” with Myon & Shane.
If you’re looking to take things a little slower, perk open your ears to the sounds of The War on Drugs‘ “Touch of Grey,” Frenship‘s “Carpet,” HANA‘s “White,” Astronautica‘s “Falling for You,” or Amason‘s cover of Foreigner‘s “I Want to Know What Love Is.”
Click below for the playlist of 20 new tunes, also including selections by Fitz & the Tantrums, Ty Dolla $ign, Logistics, Kraak & Smaak and LISTENBEE.
If you need more than just a large cup of black coffee to get you going on this rainy-turned-disappointingly-sunny Monday, I’ve got just the fix!
My 18-song selection for this week’s New Music Monday is totally upbeat and perfect for putting you in the mood for a positive work week.
Carly Rae Jepsen teamed up with one of my favorite actsThe Knockson “Love Me Like That,” Tinashe and her consistently sexy vocals shine on “Ride of Your Life,” Don Diablo‘s remix of Birdy‘s “Keeping Your Head Up” will have you on your feet and Me & My Toothbrush impresses yet again with their signature disco-infused sound on “Living for the Moment.”
Click the playlist below for the full list, which also includes Autograf, Fifth Harmony, Rameses B, Tritonal, Way Out West, Pr0files and – blast from the past – Mya!
I usually can’t put the words “happy” and “Monday” in the same sentence, but when I can start my week with 34 brand new songs that I’m actually fond of, I can’t complain, right?
This week’s New Music Monday brings you fresh material from The 1975(absolutely loving “Somebody Else”), Florrie, Midi Matilda, Satin Jackets, Miike Snow, Gypsy & the Catand so many more!
There are not many full-length albums in this week’s roundup, but Wild Nothing just released their 11-track “Life of Pause,” which is every bit their signature dream-pop sound. We also have Foxes‘ 12-track “All I Need,” which includes the perfect blend of emotional ballads and sexy uplifting tracks.
Click the playlist below for all of the new music, which also includes HEARTWATCH, Cardiknox, FKA Twigs and more!
Yes, Valentine’s Day is on Sunday, but before it comes time to blast Miguel on repeat, I have some new music to send your way that’s fitting for any occasion!
On most days, I long for it to be overcast, but after hearing Timeflies‘ “Once In a While” earlier today, I actually felt like embracing the heat and sunshine. The upbeat track is every bit of positive energy we can all use on a post-Super Bowl Monday.
And then there’s Eric Prydz‘ signature dark trance-y sound that I can’t get enough of. He just released his latest album Opus and I am particularly loving “Last Dragon.”
If the mellow electronic vibe of Prydz is what you dig, you will assuredly love Above & Beyond‘s “Black Water.” And while not in the same genre, some other chill tracks of choice this week are Niki & the Dove‘s “So Much It Hurts,” Hamilton & Hedvig‘s “Ocean,” High Highs‘ “Sun,” Summer Heart‘s “Pretty Haze,” Allie X‘s “Old Habits Die Hard” and Mt. Si‘s “Baby You’re the Best.”
Click the playlist below for 22 fabulous new songs, also including ones by Solidisco, Paperwhite, Satchmode, Autograf and Louis La Roche!
It’s the month of the Grammy Awards, so an especially good time for music lovers to celebrate their passion!
St. Lucia just launched their latest album Matter, which has received glowing reviews. My favorite song from their new selection is “The Winds of Change,” so I’ve included that on this week’s New Music Monday playlist. I am also totally enamored with W. Darling‘s “Dizzy.” You may most recognize her name from being featured on Bassnectar‘s “You and Me.” And if you are a fan of Classixx, Superhumanoids and/or Kisses, you are sure to enjoy “Either/Or,” the marvelously melodic track from Mt. Si, a joint effort from the aforementioned groups’ members Michael David, Sarah Chernoff and Jesse Kivel (respectively).
Click on the playlist below for 15 new songs, which also include a little disco dance from Me & My Toothbrush, some major melodic chill from Wet (who just released their debut full-length album Don’t You) and some upbeat electro from Amtrac:
Last night was a celebratory time in Hollywood for those partaking in Golden Globes festivities – but amid the laughs and free flowing champagne came tragic news that the industry lost one of its most iconic legends, David Bowie.
The musician-actor-artist died yesterday at the age of 69 after losing a private battle with liver cancer. He just so happened to release his final album Blackstar two days before his passing, and I’ve included the song “Lazarus” in this week’s New Music Monday playlist.
While Bowie’s track is definitely the standout this week, there’s also some fresh material from Wild Belle, Wet, Teen Daze, Mowe, Moons of Mars, Anderson Paak and an old-school favorite, Boosie Badazz.
If you’re a fan of Wild Nothing (who is also on the list), you may also enjoy Sunflower Bean‘s track “Easier Said,” (included on here as well) which has a melody very reminiscent of the dream-pop band’s sound.
Listen below for a playlist of 18 new songs, which also includes Pete Yorn, Above & Beyond and Brodinski featuring Theophilus London.
As we spend this chilly Monday afternoon coming down from the highs of our glorious holiday vacations, we can at least find comfort in knowing that with a new year, comes new music, a new round of music festivals and new long-awaited album releases.
Although today’s New Music Monday selection is relatively small (the new releases greatly dwindled after Dec. 18), I’ve got some fresh material by Weekender, Aquilo, DJ Snake, RAC featuring Little Boots, Michael Coveto featuring Tory Lanez, and a handful of other artists who are sure to kick of your January 2016 just right.
Click on the playlist below for the selection of 11 new tracks. And a happy, healthy, safe 2016 to all!
