Whew! 2017 is less than a month from being over, so while you’re in the middle of rejoicing (as I’m sure most of you are!), do so with some fresh new music.
As the year comes to a close, the music is mellowing out, so prepare to cozy up in cold weather to 32 chill new tunes. I had this playlist on repeat over the weekend while I cooked and hung up new apartment decor. I couldn’t have picked a better selection of sounds to accompany my tasks.
From BAUM and Sigrid, to Satin Jackets, Aquilo, Chelsea Lankes and more, hopefully the songs I’ve chosen will keep you hopeful of the new music to come in 2018.

I usually can’t put the words “happy” and “Monday” in the same sentence, but when I can start my week with 34 brand new songs that I’m actually fond of, I can’t complain, right?
This week’s New Music Monday brings you fresh material from The 1975 (absolutely loving “Somebody Else”), Florrie, Midi Matilda, Satin Jackets, Miike Snow, Gypsy & the Cat and so many more!
There are not many full-length albums in this week’s roundup, but Wild Nothing just released their 11-track “Life of Pause,” which is every bit their signature dream-pop sound. We also have Foxes‘ 12-track “All I Need,” which includes the perfect blend of emotional ballads and sexy uplifting tracks.
Click the playlist below for all of the new music, which also includes HEARTWATCH, Cardiknox, FKA Twigs and more!
Some of my favorites (Satin Jackets, Penguin Prison, Pompeya) are making the start to the week a little brighter with contributions to my latest New Music Monday playlist.
While they seem to be regulars on my weekly lists, I am newly digging Toronto-based producer Shaun Frank‘s groovy synth melodies in his latest track “Time,” which – like the title – takes you back to a different era!
To take things down a notch, give a listen Aquilo‘s soulful “Put Me Down,” Avivaa‘s “PRiSM,” or Henry Green‘s “Barcelona.”
And then you’ve got chart-topper Ciara back with the sexy debut single from her latest album Jackie, called “Dance Like We’re Making Love.”
Check out the playlist below, which also includes fresh tracks by Gypsy & the Cat, Parade of Lights, Make the Girl Dance, Made in Heights and more!
I’m still trying to keep my eyes open in recovery from my Grammy weekend , so I’m going to keep this brief, but as we spent yesterday reflecting on the biggest hits of 2014, we must look ahead to all the good new music coming our way now.
That said, speaking of Grammy events, if you are a fan of The Weeknd (who I caught live on Thursday), then you will love Portland-based Shy Girls (Dan Vidmar), who I’ve been a fan of for quite some time. One word: sexy. I’ve included “Arrest Me,” featuring Tei Shi off his new mixtape 4wz. In case you are unfamiliar, the R&B crooner has toured with HAIM and Little Dragon, and his voice is featured on one of my current favorite tracks, “All We Need,” by Odezsa.
If nu-disco is your thing (it sure is mine!), I’ve included “Shine On You” by Satin Jackets, “Weekend,” by Mocki and “Heyho” by Dropic Thunder.
Listen to the playlist below for 15 new tracks, including Seven Lions, trumpet-infused electronic by Big Gigantic, radio-friendly rap by Kid Ink and some pop-rock by Randy Jackson‘s latest project North of Nine:
